Food: June 2007 Mystery Food

The Mystery Food is an homage to those marvelous school cafeteria lunches of yore.

Is it even edible?   Mr. Worm

This month, the guesses were centered around one theme:

"I think this is a white cake dyed with various jello or candy flavorings... mmmm, just like Ma used to make!!!"
- Jenny Winn

"MUFFIN!"
- Maureen Moore

"Blueberry and egg muffin"
- CedeJo

"It looks like cake to me!!!"
- Karmen Koch

"Could it be that thing- you make the cake, poke it with holes and fill with Jello? That is my guess. "
- anonymous

"Poke cake!"
- PrincessInSeclusion

"A closeup of a cupcake (inside) which was made for Saint Patrick's day. The flavor is pistachio, with mint garnish."
- Mo Quintana

"This would have to be confetti angel food cake.  Just beauuuuuutiful..."
- Twyla D. Hobbs

"angelfood cake?"
- Rada Lewis

"This has to be angel food cake that was baked with sprinkles, except the sprinkles melted in the oven and stained the cake."
- Paris Harper

Everyone was correct about the Mystery Food being something from the made-with-flour category and that it was stained with a foreign substance. However, it isn't a cake or a muffin.

The June 2007 Mystery Food is (drumroll please) ... a closeup of the interior of a green pancake!

Thanks to all for participating!
